I am very sorry that by Mr Addington's absence from town I have not had the opportunity of consulting him on your business & should not be able tomorrow morning to give you any farther information. It will I hope be some satisf action to you in the delay to knew that M. V. will go out to Trinidad as an Assistant with Col: Ruthersfurd, & I hope in a very short time to be able to give you a satisfactory answer in what personally concerns you.

Siento mucho que debido a que el señor Addington está ausente de la ciudad, no he tenido la oportunidad de consultarle acerca del asunto de V. y no podré, mañana por la mañana, darle información adicional alguna. Espero que mientras tanto le sea algo satisfactorio saber que el señor V... [Vargas] irá a la Trinidad como Asistente con el Coronel Rutherfurd, y confío dentro de muy poco tiempo poder dar a V. una respuesta satisfactoria en lo que le concierne personalmente.
