Mr Martin presents his Respectful Compliments to Lord Vincent, and hopes that, after the conference they had on the 31st inst. at Lord Hobart's every difficulty is now almost surmounted. And it gives Mr Martin real pleasure to know by that fortunate interview, what the fate of his Country, in a great measure, depends at this moment, on the liberality & talents of the Earl of St Vincent; whose memory shall be ever. Dear to him, should he know no more than the humane & magnanimous sentiments he heard him express that Evening upon this interesting subject— And Mr Martin begs Lord St Vincent to accept, in the name of all his countrymen, his most sincere acknowledgements for it—He hopes also that Lord Vincent will have the goodness to inform him, in time, when the forces are likely to be sent off; having some things to prepare here previous to his departure.

El señor Martin saluda respetuosamente a Lord St. Vincent y espera que, tras la reunión que tuvieron el 31 pasado en casa de Lord Hobart, todas las dificultades estén ahora casi superadas. Al señor Martin le da un auténtico placer saber que, mediante esta entrevista afortunada, el destino de su País depende en este momento, en gran medida, de la generosidad y talentos del Conde de St. Vincent, cuyo recuerdo siempre le será grato aunque sólo fuera por los sentimientos humanos y magnánimos que le escuchó expresar aquella tarde sobre este interesante tema. El señor Martin ruega a Lord St. Vincent acepte, en nombre de todos sus paisanos, su más sincero reconocimiento por ello. Espera también que Lord St. Vincent tendrá la bondad de informarle, a tiempo, cuándo es probable que las tropas sean enviadas, teniendo él algunas cosas que preparar aquí antes de su partida.
