August 4th.—1801.
Mr Martin presents his compliments to Mr Sullivan —and, as he conceives that the moment of carring into execution the Plans that were debated last Friday, may be near at hand—he thinks, upon reflexion, it may be proper to give to his friends in the Continent somes previous information through the médium of the confidential agents that are now in the islands near it. Therefore wishes to know, if a Letter sent for Trinidad could be forwarded immediately?—and if it would not be proper that he should mention the time a peu pres of his departure hence? Having writen six weeks ago upon the subject and which intimation must have appeared premature there, on account of the delay that unfortunately has since taken place.

El señor Martin saluda atentamente al señor Sullivan y, como imagina que está próximo el momento de poner en ejecución los planes que fueron debatidos el pasado viernes, cree, tras reflexión, que sea conveniente dar a sus amigos en el Continente alguna información previa por medio de los agentes confidenciales que están actualmente en las islas cercanas. Por lo tanto desea saber si una carta para la Trinidad podría ser remitida inmediatamente y si no sería apropiado que él mencionase el momento, más o menos, de su salida de aquí, habiendo escrito hace seis semanas sobre el asunto, lo que habrá parecido allí prematuro debido al retraso que desgraciadamente ha tenido lugar desde entonces.
