My dear Sir:
I send you a Card stating the periods of War, and of peace in the last Century, the date are such as leads us: to conclude the present'd peace con' be. Of long duration if other then ordinary causes were not looked for.
You will pleace to permit me to assure you that I feel very much gratified in having the honour of being renown to you, and that I shall be happy on all occasions to testify to you the respect and consideration with which I nave the honour to be.

Envío a V. una tarjeta indicando los períodos de Guerra y Paz en el Siglo pasado. La fechas son tales que nos llevan a concluir que la Paz actual no puede ser duradera si no se buscan otras causas ordinarias.
Permítame que asegure a V. que me siento muy complacido por haber tenido el honor de conocer a V., y que en toda ocasión tendré gusto en demostrarle el respeto y la consideración con la que tengo el honor de ser el muy obediente servidor de V.
