They were supported, by Captain Johnston of the Artillery with 2 Field pieces and 2 Howitzers also by a Company of the Provincials and 25 Men of the 60th Rgt.— On account of the heavy Fire the Enemy received from Captain Johnston and the Indians they retreated under cover of their Shipping and Galleys, About 5 Oclock Captn Johnston return'd also the other Partys. The Indians carne in and brought 4 of the Enemys Drums 1 Mans Head and a Number of Sculps; The Inhabitants of the Town say they saw a shell which was fired from the Howitzer fall in the middle of 13 Boat full of Men, who return'd as f ast as posible to their Shipping. We had no more than one Indian killed and 2 Slightly Wounded.

Monday 2nd.
Found one of our Soldiers Dead who was Killed by the Enemy on the 30th March last who we Immagined liad Deserted, The Enemy this afternoon Embarked all their Troops.
Tuesday 3d.
About 2 Oclock the Enemy Disembarked their Grenadiers and Dragoons. The Galvez Brigg went up the Bay, we Inmagine to seize what Goods and vessels she may fall in with.
Wednesday 4th.
Last Night the Enemy took Possession of the Port Royal who had on Board about 100 Spanish Prisioners, also took 3 other Ships and small Craft.

Estuvieron apoyados por el capitán Johnston de la artillería, con dos piezas de artillería y dos obuses. También por una compañía de Provincianos y 25 hombres del 609 regimiento. A causa del fuego intenso que el enemigo recibió del capitán Johnston y de los indios, se retiraron protegidos por sus naves y galeras. Alrededor de las cinco regresó el capitán Johnston, así como los demás grupos. Los indios trajeron cuatro tambores del enemigo, la cabeza de un hombre y varios cueros cabelludos escalpados. Los habitantes de la ciudad cuentan haber visto un proyectil, que fue disparado de un obús, caer en medio de 13 botes llenos de hombres, que regresaron lo más rápido posible a sus barcos. Sólo tuvimos un indio muerto y dos ligeramente heridos.

El enemigo fue visto haciendo un reconocimiento a nuestro alrededor.
Lunes, 2 de abril—
Encontramos uno de nuestros soldados muerto por el enemigo el pasado día 30 de marzo, que suponíamos había desertado. Esta tarde el enemigo embarcó todas sus tropas.
Martes, 3 de abril.—
Hacia las dos, el enemigo desembarcó sus granaderos y dragones. El bergantín de Gálvez remontó la bahía, suponemos que para apoderarse de cuanta mercancía y barcos pueda encontrar.
Miércoles, 4 de abril.—
Anoche el enemigo se apoderó del "Port Royal" que tenía a bordo unos cien prisioneros españoles; también se apropió de otros tres barcos y pequeñas embarcaciones.
