Sunday 15th.
A very heavy rain fell last Nihght which washed down great quantitys of Sand from the Foundation of the Fort and Redoubts. The Enemy threw up a work in a Valley, supposed only to keep up the communicaíion with the Shipping to Pass their Cannons Stores &. B. James and A. Fraser arrived here with about 90 Chactaws.
Monday 16th.

Tuesday 17th.
Last Night about 8 Oclock a Serjeant of the Regiment of Flanders deserted from the Enemy to us who says they are bad off for Provisions. And that Genl. Galvez was Wounded on Thursd ay last. About 11 Oclock an express carne in f rom St. Augustine giving us the account of the Engagement of Lord Cornwallis with the Rebels at Hillsborough in North Caroline and that he had killed 3000 Men. A Party of Creek Indians who carne in with the express took a Boat belonging to the Enemy at Dear Point, Killed 3 of the Crew and took one Prisioner at 5 Oclock some Negroes took a Spaniard at Gull Point.
Wednesday 18th.
Yesterday Evening the Inhabitants took a Spaniar under a wharf opposite the Town. About 9 Oclock a Potachque and Brigg passed the Fort at the Clifts and Join'd the Fleet, About 5 Oclock the Enemy Fired a Fea de Joy. Early this morning we began to erect an additional Battery on the left Flank of the advanced Redoubt.

Domingo, 15 de abril.—
Una lluvia muy fuerte cayó anoche, arrastrando grandes cantidades de arena de los cimientos del fuerte y reductos. El enemigo hizo una construcción en el valle, supuesta sea sólo para mantener la comunicación con los barcos y pasar sus cañones, provisiones, etc. B. James y A. Fraser llegaron aquí con unos 90 chactas.

Martes, 17 de abril.—
Anoche, alrededor de las ocho, un sargento del regimiento de Flandes desertó del enemigo y se vino con nosotros; dice que andan mal de provisiones y que el general Gálvez fue herido el pasado jueves. Hacia las once llegó un mensajero desde San Agustín dándonos cuenta del combate de Lord Cornwallis con los rebeldes en Hillsborough, Carolina del Norte, y que había matado tres mil hombres. Un grupo de indios creek, que trajeron el mensaje, capturó un bote en Dear Point, perteneciente al enemigo; mataron a tres de la tripulación e hicieron un prisionero. A las cinco, unos negros apresaron a un español en Gull Point.
Miércoles, 18 de abril—
Ayer al anochecer los habitantes apresaron a un español debajo del muelle, frente a la ciudad. Alrededor de las nueve, un patache y un bergantín pasaron el fuerte de Barrancas y se unieron a la flota. Cerca de las cinco, el enemigo disparó un "feu de joie". Esta mañana temprano empezamos a construir una batería adicional en el flanco izquierdo del reducto avanzado.
