Mrs. Montgomery with her best compliments returns Colonel Miranda two of his books. The third Helvet she has absolutely fallen in love with and cannot think of parting with it and however by way of compensation left a history of the last war in America written by an officer who was an Eye witness to what he wrote, in the house of her mother, in queen street and if Colonel Miranda will do her the favor to accept of it in return she will conclude he has pardoned the liberty she has taken.
Mrs. Montgomery still flatters herseíf that by chance she shall see the Col. Before his departure from this country. Yet should that moment not arrive she wishes him to accept her prayers for his future happiness—and her thanks for his many attentions.
