My Dear Sir
I have recd your favour of yesterday, & have been this morning very early whit Mr Addington — but did not see him; his prívate Secretary Mr. Barlow carne to me, & assured me that he would see Lord Hawkesbury, now in the place of Lord Grenville, this morning, & consult him about Granting your Passport. Your present note, I have sent to Mr. Addington, altho I dont know him even by Sight, & I think there is little doubt that a Passport will be sent you, but as they are new in office, & have much on these Land, I doubt it will be sent you till Monday — As I have been very unwell for sometime past with a severe Cold, it is probable that I shall not come to Town till Thursday morning, but I shall hope to have the pleasure of your company to dinner on that day—

Mi estimado Señor:
He recibido su atenta de ayer y he estado esta mañana, muy temprano, donde el señor Addington, pero no lo vi. Su secretario privado, el señor Barlow, vino a verme y me aseguró que él le vería esta mañana a Lord Hawkesbury actualmente en el puesto de Lord Grenville y le consultaría acerca de conceder a V. su Pasaporte. He enviado la presente nota de V. al señor Addington, a pesar de que no le conozco ni siquiera de vista y yo opino que no hay la menor duda de que un Pasaporte le será enviado a V., pero como son nuevos en la oficina y tienen mucho entre manos dudo que no se lo enviarán sino hasta el lunes. Como he estado muy mal durante algún tiempo, con un fuerte catarro, es probable que no vaya a la ciudad hasta el jueves por la mañana pero espero tener el placer de la compañía de V. para almorzar uno de estos días.
