Dr Friend.
I am here involved in negotiating about a House which requires my daily attendance so that it would be impossible for me to leave this Place for so many daies at present as a journey to London would require. Although I lose by this the oportunity of taking leave of you personally I shall not expose you & myself to the pain of a personal parting. And perhaps it is best that I should not be seen in London on this occasion as it might lead to some suspicious inconsistent with the Secrecy which is enjoyned to you.
As at my first commencing my Service in this buisness so now I repeat my offerrs to continué that service in any Form, wherein I can be of use to you or the Cause in which you are engaged. You will therefore before you take your Departure from London leave in the hands of Mr Turnbull, (cachees with a Wafer under the Wax) such Memoranda of things to be done as you think necessary, within the Department wherein I can best serve you. Desiring him to forward it to me at Bath. Specifying particularly those Points wherein I am to consult him, and those points wherein. I am not also those points whereing he is to Consult me.
When you arrive at your Place of embarkation give me just before your departure a final letter direeted. to me at Bath. If you have oportunity & occasion to write to me after your arrival at the place of your Destination, and after your commencing your operations, and so from time to time, direct your letter to me under cover to Wm Fawkener Esqr. Whitehall — London.
Altho' we may be separated personally I hope our joint services will continué combined & united in a Cause in which my heart is so entirely interested. and as I shall never forget or neglect you & that Cause, I will trust that no change of Place or Circunstances will permit you to forget me or my services as your Cooperator for eleven years.

Estoy aquí envuelto en la negociación de una casa que requiere mi asistencia diaria, así es que me será imposible abandonar este lugar por tantos días, en este momento, como lo requeriría un viaje a Londres. A pesar de que yo pierdo con esto la oportunidad de despedirme personalmente de V., no expondré ni a V. ni a mí mismo al dolor de una despedida personal. Y quizás sea mejor que yo no sea visto en Londres en esta ocasión, ya que podría conducir a alguna sospecha, inconsecuente con la discreción que se le ha impuesto a V.
Como cuando comencé por primera vez mi servicio en este asunto, así ahora repito mi oferta de continuar este servicio en cualquier forma que yo pueda ser útil a V. o a la causa en la que V. está comprometido. Por lo tanto, antes de su partida de Londres, dejará V. en manos del señor Turnbull (sellado con oblea bajo lacre) los memorandos de cosas por hacer que V. crea necesario dentro del Departamento en el cual mejor puedo serle útil a V., rogándole me lo envíe a Bath; detallando en particular aquellos puntos sobre los que debo consultar con él y aquellos sobre los que él me debe consultar.
Cuando llegue V. a su lugar de embarque, envíeme, justo antes de la partida de V., una última carta dirigida a mí a Bath. Si V. tiene oportunidad y ocasión de escribirme después de su llegada al lugar de su destino, y después de comenzar sus operaciones, y así de vez en cuando, dirija su carta para mí a cargo del señor Wm. Fawkener, Esquire, Whitehall, Londres. A pesar de que podamos estar separados, personalmente yo espero que nuestros servicios conjuntos continuaran coordinados y unidos en una causa en la cual mi corazón está tan enteramente interesado; y ya que jamás olvidaré o descuidaré a V. y a esa causa, confiaré en que ningún cambio de lugar ni de circunstancias permitirá a V. olvidarme ni tampoco mis servicios como su cooperador durante once años.
