Dejamos Minden a las cuatro. Una tormenta fría y desagradable. Cruzamos el Weser por el puente principal, donde se efectuó la retirada. Los aliados debían estar satisfechos al ver a los franceses abandonar sus posiciones bajo una humillante derrota; y con tiempo, observando el efecto de uno o dos movimientos positivos, resolvieron hacer una retirada en buen orden, lo que hicieron sobre una muy rápida corriente, con aparente desventaja ante un enemigo victorioso.
